At Ella’s Garden in Tomball, a young planner and her parents are reimagining what it means to host a wedding, blending affordability, community, and heart.

On a quiet stretch of Tomball, just beyond Houston’s outer edge, there is a place where weekend evenings fill with music, laughter and the soft rustle of garden leaves under twinkling lights. At the center of it all stands a white gazebo, framed by greenery, a familiar backdrop for vows, photographs and the beginning of something new.

For Avery Salvatori, that setting is more than picturesque. It’s personal.

“I fell in love with this venue when I was in high school,” she said. “I started as a dishwasher, and I just never really left.”

Today, Avery is the head wedding planner and one of the driving forces behind Ella’s Garden Wedding Venue, a family-owned business she purchased with her parents, Megan and Mauricio Salvatori, in August 2025.

What began as a part-time job has evolved into a full-scale family endeavor, one rooted in risk, reinvention and a shared belief in celebrating life’s biggest moments.

A Full-Circle Beginning

Avery’s journey back to Ella’s Garden was, in many ways, serendipitous. After years of working her way up from dishwasher to head bartender, she left to attend Texas A&M University, where she studied hospitality and event management. There, she gained hands-on experience coordinating events and refining the skills she had first developed on the job.

Then, earlier in 2025, she returned to the venue for a single weekend.

“That’s when I found out the previous owner was thinking about selling,” she said. “I brought the idea to my dad as a new family venture and somehow, everything just fell into place.”

The decision was not without its challenges. While Avery brought industry knowledge and experience, her parents were stepping into unfamiliar territory. Megan, a full-time Spanish teacher at Tomball Junior High, would take on weekend coordination. Mauricio, an entrepreneur originally from Puebla, Mexico, would lend his skills wherever needed.

What they lacked in event experience, they made up for in determination.

“When we bought the venue, it needed a lot of TLC,” Avery said. “Those first few months, our whole family, even my brothers, were here painting, fixing things, organizing. It was all hands on deck.”

Rebuilding With Purpose

The transformation of Ella’s Garden has been both physical and philosophical. Beyond fresh paint and renovations, the Salvatori family has reimagined how the venue serves its clients.

Today, Ella’s Garden offers all-inclusive wedding packages designed to simplify what is often an overwhelming process. From catering and cakes to DJs, photographers and décor, the venue provides a streamlined experience, one that can still be customized to reflect each couple’s vision.

“No wedding is the same,” Avery said. “Our goal is to take the stress out of planning so our couples can actually enjoy their day.”

The model appears to be working. Since the family took over, bookings have tripled, and the venue has expanded beyond weddings to host quinceañeras, baby showers, corporate events and more.

Inside, the reception space offers a warm, intimate setting, complemented by a separate bar lounge where guests gather between dances. Outside, the garden remains the venue’s centerpiece, a natural stage for ceremonies anchored by its signature gazebo.

There are also quieter spaces: private suites where couples prepare before the ceremony, sharing moments with family and friends before stepping into the spotlight.

A Business and a Bond

For the Salvatori family, Ella’s Garden is more than a business. It is a shared undertaking that has strengthened their bond while testing their limits.

“Balancing life and the business hasn’t been easy,” Avery said. “Weekdays are full of tours and maintenance, and weekends are events. Finding time to rest is something we’re still learning.”

Yet the dynamic between them is part of what defines the venue’s character. Megan brings patience and perspective shaped by years in education. Mauricio contributes an entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to tackle any task. Avery bridges it all with industry expertise and a deep emotional connection to the work.

Together, they have built something that feels, by design, like an extension of their family.

“Our goal is to make every customer feel like they’re part of it too,” Avery said.

Rooted in Community

That sense of connection extends beyond the venue itself. Ella’s Garden actively partners with local businesses, creating a network that reflects the broader Tomball and Houston community.

Vendors like 1821 Coffee Fusion in Old Town Tomball, which provides a coffee bar for select packages, and Happily Ever After, a local bridal shop, are woven into the experience. Nearby accommodations, such as Maple Creek Bed and Breakfast, offer options for out-of-town guests.

The venue also hosts quarterly open houses, often highlighting new local vendors, and provides job opportunities for high school and college students seeking weekend work.

“We love supporting other small businesses,” Avery said. “When we grow, we want them to grow with us.”

That approach has not gone unnoticed. Ella’s Garden was recently named one of the top venues in Tomball and holds a 4.7-star rating on Google, markers of both quality and consistency in a competitive industry.

Making Space for Every Love Story

At a time when wedding costs continue to rise, affordability has become a central part of the venue’s mission. The Salvatori family is intentional about offering packages that cater to a range of budgets without compromising the experience.

“We believe everyone deserves their dream wedding day,” Avery said.

Looking ahead, the family has plans for further renovations and expanded landscaping, enhancements designed to elevate the venue while preserving its charm. But their broader vision remains focused on accessibility, community and growth.

They are not just building a business; they are shaping an experience.

An Invitation to Begin

For couples searching for a place to say “I do,” Ella’s Garden offers more than a venue. It offers guidance, flexibility and a team that understands both the logistics and the emotion behind the day.

The next step, Avery said, is simple: visit their website, schedule a tour call 281-290-0998 and see the space in person.

Because while photos can capture the setting, they cannot fully convey what happens there,  the quiet anticipation before a ceremony, the burst of applause after a first kiss, the feeling of a day unfolding just as it should.

For the Salvatori family, those moments are the reason they took the leap.

And for every couple who walks through the garden gates, it is where their own story begins.

That’s it for today

Our goal is simple: spotlight the people behind local businesses, share their stories, and help you connect with what’s happening in town
